The Florida Association of Recovery Residences (FARR) is a nonprofit organization that sets standards for and certifies recovery residences (sober living homes) in the state of Florida. It is affiliated with the National Alliance for Recovery Residences (NARR), a nationwide organization focused on supporting quality standards for recovery housing. FARR’s mission is to promote best practices in sober living environments and ensure that recovery residences operate in a way that supports individuals recovering from addiction. It does this by providing certification to homes that meet certain criteria for safety, ethics, and effective recovery support. Certified homes must comply with FARR’s Code of Ethics and Standards, which cover areas like housing safety, staff training, and peer support systems. FARR also acts as an advocate for the recovery community, working with state and local governments, as well as addiction treatment providers, to improve access to safe, effective housing for those in recovery.
