Residents of Zen House are required to pass a drug and alcohol screen and breathalyzer observed by Zen House staff, prior to admission to Zen House.
Residents of Zen House are required to pay the entirety of the first month’s rent at time of admission to Zen House.
Residents will be assigned a bed by the Zen House manager.
Residents will turn over all prescribed medication to the Zen House manager for inspection.
Zen House manager will instruct residents how to operate the personal safe in their room, where resident’s medication must be stored at all times.
Residents will read and review all Zen House intake paperwork and agreements with staff. Residents are encouraged to ask Zen House staff any questions they have regarding their stay at Zen House during time of intake.
Residents will review and sign Zen House intake paperwork and agreement via Docusign. A copy of completed paperwork will be sent via email to the resident's email address on file.
Zen House manager will provide new residents with a tour of Zen House.
Zen House provides all residents with new bedding including (1) fitted sheet, (1) top sheet, (1) new comforter, (2) pillowcases, (2) pillows, (1) new hamper, hangers for use in closet space, and (2) new full-size bath towels.
Zen House residents have access to washer and dryer, coffee maker, toaster, utensils, and basic kitchenware.
For comfortable adjustment to Zen House, we request that residents ensure they have several changes of weather-appropriate clothing and sleep attire. Residents are responsible for providing their own toiletries and hygiene products, including feminine care items. Do not share your razor or toothbrush with other residents. You are responsible for all personal belongings, which must be stored in your assigned bedroom.
Zen House residents are responsible for providing their own groceries. Should a resident be in need of food assistance (food stamps, food pantry) it is the resident’s responsibility to inform Zen House staff for assistance in obtaining groceries.
Zen House staff will introduce new residents to their fellow housemates at Zen House. A formal welcome and introduction is conducted at the Monday house meeting.
Staff will follow the following procedure with resident:
Search of resident’s belongings
Assign code to resident’s personal safe
Ensure resident is able to operate safe
Observe resident place medications in assigned personal safe
Observe resident during drug/alcohol screening, document test results in resident’s chart
Assign resident pantry shelf
Review policies and procedures with new resident, provide accurate information to resident addressing any questions or concerns resident may have about their stay at Zen House
Resident will sign Zen House intake agreement and paperwork via Docusign, which will be emailed to the resident's email on file.
